Notice and timing
How delinquency is handled
Grace period after the due date
Customers have 20 days from the billing date to pay on time; after the due date LVMWD adds a 5% fee and grants two additional weeks. If still unpaid, the District phones at 56 days from the due date, posts a 72-hour door tag at 58 days, and disconnects after the 72-hour window.
Late-fee calculation
A 5% fee is assessed when payment is not received within 20 days of the billing date. If delinquency continues, a $115 penalty is assessed with the 72-hour door-tag notice. Past-due amounts may be subject to disconnection even when the current bill's due date has not yet arrived.
Disconnection timeline
The published sequence is billing date day 0; on-time payment window through day 20; 5% fee and two-week extension after day 20; telephone attempt at 56 days after the due date; 72-hour door notice and $115 penalty at 58 days after the due date; disconnection after the 72-hour notice expires if payment is unresolved.
