Use the provider’s verified online, telephone, mail, or counter instructions. Check the final confirmation screen for the amount, processing date, and any transaction fee before submitting.

The direct portal is the fastest route when it is available. The provider identifies its payment gateway as MyUtilityPortal / City of Long Beach Utility Services; the public portal does not identify a separate third-party payment vendor.. Mail, text, and in-person payment instructions

Pay by text

A dedicated this detail was not publicly posted. Long Beach Utilities’ current payment pages and MyUtilityPortal materials publish web, phone, mail, automatic-payment, City Hall, and participating-retailer channels but do not publish an SMS keyword, short code, or text-to-pay enrollment process.

Mail-in address

City of Long Beach, P.O. Box 630, Long Beach, CA 90842-0001. Checks and money orders should include the account number and be payable to the City of Long Beach; the City explicitly warns customers not to mail cash.

Counters, drop boxes, and office hours

The principal in-person location is the City Hall lobby, 411 West Ocean Boulevard, Long Beach, CA 90802-9829, open for utility payment service Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding holidays. Customers may also use the City’s barcode/pay-code cash channel at participating 7-Eleven, CVS, Walgreens, Food4Less, Ralphs, and other listed retailers; payments are recognized the same day, although a retailer fee may apply. City materials state that City Hall accepts ordinary counter payments and the bill PDF lists check or money order by mail; confirm card, cash, and delinquent-restoration instrument requirements before visiting.

Accepted digital instruments

What you can use online

The current City channels include online MyUtilityPortal payments, quick pay as a guest, automated phone payment, automatic checking-account withdrawals, and bank or bill-payment-service transfers. The public pages do not present one exhaustive current list of card brands or digital wallets. For service restoration after nonpayment, the City requires the delinquent bill, a cash deposit, and authorized charges before restoration; a returned payment must be replaced with cash, money order, or cashier’s check.

2026 transaction pricing

Convenience fees

A dedicated this detail was not publicly posted. As a separately published universal 2026 online card, ACH, or e-check convenience-fee amount. The City warns that some third-party cash retailers may charge a fee and that Walmart payments can create additional charges; customers should rely on the final MyUtilityPortal or phone-payment disclosure for any transaction-specific fee.

Fees can vary by payment type, channel, account class, and processor terms. The checkout screen is the final fee disclosure.

Payment guidance

Choose the payment channel that fits your deadline

The safest payment path is the one published by Long Beach Utilities Department and matched to the account information on your bill. Online portals are convenient, but telephone, mail, counter, and drop-box options may follow different posting schedules and may use different fees.

For a routine payment, save the final confirmation page or IVR number and check when the transaction will post. For a same-day shut-off notice, do not assume that submitting a card payment automatically stops a field order; ask the provider what amount and confirmation are required.

Never send your account number, password, card details, or bank information to Water Ledger. Those details belong only on the provider’s verified payment channel or at an authorized counter.
