Provider-specific review
What the public record says about a leak adjustment
SJW tells customers to shut off all indoor and outdoor use, read the meter, wait 15–20 minutes, and check whether the sweep hand moved. Everything beyond the meter, including the service pipe to the home, is generally the customer’s repair responsibility. Customers who correct a leak may be eligible for a bill adjustment; they should retain plumber invoices and receipts and contact Customer Service at 408-279-7900. SJW can arrange a complementary home water audit and a Field Service visit for high-bill or leak investigations. The current public customer page does not state one universal adjustment percentage, dollar cap, filing deadline, or formula, so the utility’s review determines the account-specific credit.
