Notice and timing
How delinquency is handled
Grace period after the due date
The bill is due 30 days after its print date. There is no additional standard grace period published after the due date: the delinquency flowchart places the 3% late fee on day 31 when payment has not been received.
Late-fee calculation
A 3% late fee is charged when payment is not received by the due date, with the current past-due flowchart identifying day 31 as the late-fee point for a bill due on day 30. A separate 2.8% convenience fee applies to credit or debit card processing under the UtilityDirect FAQ and is not a delinquency penalty.
Disconnection timeline
The published flowchart maps the sequence as follows: bill due around day 30 after printing; 3% late fee on day 31; first delinquency notice around day 30 or 31; a second notice around day 81, approximately 15 days before service termination; and disconnection no sooner than 60 days after the bill due date, generally around day 90 or 91. The shutoff day is scheduled on a Tuesday, and full payment or an approved arrangement must be completed by close of business on the preceding business day.
