Payment channels

Pay City of Fort Collins – Fort Collins Utilities Water

Use the provider’s verified online, telephone, mail, or counter instructions. Check the final confirmation screen for the amount, processing date, and any transaction fee before submitting.

Primary online route

Use the official payment portal

The direct portal is the fastest route when it is available. The provider identifies its payment gateway as i-Doxs / secure8.i-doxs.net; the city’s account-access page uses a separate secure login for account billing. Never enter account credentials into a lookalike site reached through an unsolicited message.

Alternative channels

Mail, text, and in-person payment instructions

Pay by text

No Fort Collins Utilities text-to-pay keyword, short code, or enrollment sequence is published on the current payment page. Customers can use the online account, 24/7 IVR, or the city’s email/mail notice channels. The city’s MyWater tools provide usage information and alerts but are not described as a text-to-pay enrollment program.

Mail-in address

Fort Collins Utilities, P.O. Box 1580, Fort Collins, CO 80522-1580. Customers should return the bill stub with the check, should never mail cash, and should use the account number and amount due shown on the stub so the lockbox can credit the payment correctly.

Counters, drop boxes, and office hours

The staffed customer-service payment location is the Customer Service Lobby, 222 Laporte Ave., Fort Collins, CO 80521. Hours are 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday; 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Wednesday; closed major holidays. Customers may pay online or through the phone system 24 hours a day. The city also permits third-party payments at places such as King Soopers or Walmart, but warns that processing may take several additional days and fees may apply; payments are no longer accepted at First National Bank. The lobby handles customer assistance, while water/stormwater/wastewater emergencies are reported to 970-221-6700.

Accepted digital instruments

What you can use online

The official payment page states that the online one-time payment screen accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Google Pay, and Apple Pay. Registered users can pay electronically with a checking or savings account, and one-time card payments can be made without using the recurring account workflow. The automated phone system accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express for payment and balance inquiries.

2026 transaction pricing

Convenience fees

The current city payment page confirms that online card payments are processed through the secure payment system and that payments post immediately, but the visible 2026 page does not publish a separate card or ACH convenience-fee amount. Third-party grocery-store or Walmart payments may carry additional vendor fees and may take several days. Treat the live checkout disclosure as controlling for any transaction fee; do not infer a zero-fee card transaction from the absence of a displayed amount.

Fees can vary by payment type, channel, account class, and processor terms. The checkout screen is the final fee disclosure.

Payment guidance

Choose the payment channel that fits your deadline

The safest payment path is the one published by City of Fort Collins – Fort Collins Utilities Water and matched to the account information on your bill. Online portals are convenient, but telephone, mail, counter, and drop-box options may follow different posting schedules and may use different fees.

For a routine payment, save the final confirmation page or IVR number and check when the transaction will post. For a same-day shut-off notice, do not assume that submitting a card payment automatically stops a field order; ask the provider what amount and confirmation are required.

Never send your account number, password, card details, or bank information to Water Ledger. Those details belong only on the provider’s verified payment channel or at an authorized counter.
