Notice and timing
How delinquency is handled
Grace period after the due date
15 days after the monthly bill's following-month due date is not a grace period; Cottonwood states that balances not paid by the 15th are subject to a late fee, and an account is considered delinquent at 30 days past due.
Late-fee calculation
Past-due balances receive a 3% late fee to cover late notices and failed-payment administration. A $50 involuntary disconnect fee is added when water is turned off for delinquency, and the full balance plus the disconnect fee is required to reconnect.
Disconnection timeline
Bills are due by the 15th of the following month. At 30 days past due, the account is considered delinquent and subject to shutoff; the customer continues receiving monthly bills showing current charges. The reviewed public policy does not publish a longer calendar of warnings before the field turnoff.
