Notice and timing
How delinquency is handled
Grace period after the due date
Charges are due by the statement due date; the reviewed Connecticut statement material does not describe a separate numeric grace period before late charges apply.
Late-fee calculation
The April 1, 2026 approved rate schedule lists a late payment fee of 1.40% per month on the outstanding balance. Other collection charges can include a $25 return-check fee, $41.96 collections-at-premise fee, $10 letter-series fee, and account-specific service charges under the tariff.
Disconnection timeline
Aquarion’s published assistance process does not provide one fixed calendar-day sequence from missed due date to field shutoff. Customers whose service was shut off for nonpayment can enroll in the Flexible Payment Plan, pay 50% of the total past-due amount plus the reconnection charge up to a $1,000 initial payment, and then make the plan installment plus current charges.
