Mail, text, and in-person payment instructions
Pay by text
DC Water offers an SMS Text To Pay notification through the My DC Water paperless-billing settings. The customer registers at mydcwater.com, links a verified payment method, chooses SMS Text To Pay rather than ordinary SMS bill notification, and receives a text when the bill is ready; responding to that message authorizes payment using the registered payment information. The current public instructions do not publish a separate keyword or short code, so enrollment should be completed inside the authenticated portal or confirmed with Customer Service at 202-354-3600.
Mail-in address
District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority Customer Service Department P.O. Box 97200 Washington, DC 20090. DC Water asks customers mailing checks or money orders to allow at least four business days before the due date; the printed bill envelope and payment stub should accompany the remittance.
Counters, drop boxes, and office hours
DC Water customers may pay in person at participating Western Union agent locations at no charge. Most locations accept cash, and some accept debit cards; customers should use Western Union's current location directory, provide the account number, name, payment type, and amount, and retain the MTCN receipt. The DC Water headquarters at 1385 Canal Street SE is the customer-service and administrative address, but the published payment instructions route walk-in cash payments through Western Union rather than promising a public cashier counter. Routine customer-service hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.; the automated self-service line remains available 24/7.
