Notice and timing
How delinquency is handled
Grace period after the due date
30 days from the invoice date under the City’s e-billing FAQ; the bill is due on the stated due date and partial payment does not prevent disconnection if the full amount is not paid.
Late-fee calculation
The current utility-billing page requires the full account balance plus a $5 late fee and $20 reconnection fee for same-day restoration after nonpayment. Delray temporarily waived late fees from July 20 through August 7, 2026 during the Tyler migration. No broader percentage interest formula is published on the current page.
Disconnection timeline
Customers have 30 days from the invoice date to submit payment. If the full amount is not paid by the due date, the account may be disconnected; the public e-billing FAQ says no partial payment prevents disconnection. The City states that if service is off for nonpayment, same-day turn-on requires full balance plus $5 late fee and $20 reconnection fee before 3:30 p.m. Monday–Friday, followed by a call to Customer Service.
