Provider-specific review
What the public record says about a leak adjustment
Fort Lauderdale’s residential High Use Billing Adjustment application must be submitted within 60 days of receiving the bill that shows high usage. For a leak, the customer must identify the leak location and repair date and provide a specialist/plumber invoice or an original hardware-store receipt for self-repair. The City may review the account’s prior 12-month average and adjust the overage above that average at the lowest applicable tier for a maximum of two months, subject to the ordinance and supporting documentation. For other valid circumstances, the customer must describe the cause, provide evidence of no leak, and request a meter test where required. Customers should contact Utility Billing at (954) 828-5150 and retain receipts; approval is not automatic.
