Notice and timing
How delinquency is handled
Grace period after the due date
20 calendar days after the bill date or preferred due date before the account is past due. If an unpaid balance of at least $25 remains at day 20, the County sends a reminder with a final due date 10 additional working days later.
Late-fee calculation
A fee of 1% of the unpaid balance or $5, whichever is greater, applies when the account remains unpaid after the reminder due date. The current rate page also lists administrative, service-trip, return-payment, and nonpayment-disconnection fees under the BOCC-approved fee schedule.
Disconnection timeline
At day 20 after billing, a balance of $25 or more triggers a reminder notice with 10 additional working days. If the bill is not paid within 30 days of issuance, the account is eligible for a late fee and water may be discontinued; any account showing an unpaid past-due balance is subject to immediate disconnection under the operations manual. Remote nonpayment disconnects occur on the scheduled shutoff day, and same-day restoration is available only when payment is completed by 3:30 p.m.
