Notice and timing
How delinquency is handled
Grace period after the due date
0 days after the bill's indicated due date for late-fee purposes. Payment must be received by the stated due date or a late fee/delinquency charge is assessed; the FAQ separately allows 14 calendar days after the billing due date before the account becomes subject to disconnection without further notice.
Late-fee calculation
The FY2026 Chapter 6 fee schedule imposes a past-due fee of 0.5% of the past-due balance when that balance is greater than $5, plus a $5 administrative and general fee. A separate $35 delinquent fee is charged when a disconnect service order has been initiated, even if the physical disconnection has not yet occurred. A dishonored payment is charged $25 or 5% of the transaction amount, whichever is larger, capped at $200 or actual collection cost where applicable.
Disconnection timeline
Payment is due on the date printed on the monthly bill and late charges begin after that date. If the past-due balance is not paid within 14 calendar days of the billing due date, PBCWUD states that the account is subject to disconnection without further notice. Initiation of the disconnect order triggers the $35 delinquent fee even if the crew has not yet shut the meter off. The public FAQ does not publish a universal time-of-day cutoff or standard after-hours restoration interval.
