Notice and timing
How delinquency is handled
Grace period after the due date
The bill specifies a due date and a separate payment-must-reach-us-by date; the reviewed public pages do not publish one universal numeric grace interval before late charges. ABP deductions occur 20 days after bill generation, and customers are instructed to allow enough mail time to meet the stated date.
Late-fee calculation
Maui DWS warns that late payment charges apply when the minimum amount due does not reach the County by the bill's payment deadline. The current public 2026 customer pages do not state the late charge's exact dollar or percentage, while returned payments incur return-check charges and two returned ABP payments terminate the free automatic-draft enrollment.
Disconnection timeline
The published customer pages require the minimum due by the date printed on the bill and direct delinquent-account questions to the Cashiers option at (808) 270-7730. The reviewed current pages do not publish an exact day-by-day cutoff calendar from the missed due date to meter lockoff; customers should call promptly when a delinquent notice appears.
