Notice and timing
How delinquency is handled
Grace period after the due date
30 days following the bill due date. After that period a 10% penalty is charged; water bills dated before September 1 that remain unpaid, including penalties, by October 1 may be placed on the owner's tax roll.
Late-fee calculation
Town Code §212-34 imposes a 10% penalty when a water bill or charge remains unpaid within 30 days after the due date. Arrears on bills dated before September 1 can be added to the owner's tax roll after October 1, in accordance with New York Town Law.
Disconnection timeline
The accessible code establishes the 30-day late-penalty threshold and the October 1 tax-roll escalation for qualifying prior-year bills, but it does not expose a fixed day-by-day calendar from delinquency to physical shutoff. Discontinuance is governed by the Town's separate water-code provisions and notice requirements.
