Payment channels

Pay City of Allen Utility Billing and Collections

Use the provider’s verified online, telephone, mail, or counter instructions. Check the final confirmation screen for the amount, processing date, and any transaction fee before submitting.

Primary online route

Use the official payment portal

The direct portal is the fastest route when it is available. The provider identifies its payment gateway as Paymentus is the payment processor integrated with Allen’s WaterSmart customer portal. The City’s budget states that the Paymentus system supports single-sign-on payments from WaterSmart and secure telephone payments; the City’s Tyler/Munis self-service site is now limited to starting or terminating service.. Never enter account credentials into a lookalike site reached through an unsolicited message.

Telephone payment

Phone IVR

The City publishes Utility Billing at 214-509-4560 and states that Paymentus provides account payments over the phone. A separate current public IVR number or menu tree was not exposed in the pages reviewed, so customers should call 214-509-4560 and follow the current Paymentus pay-by-phone instructions rather than rely on an old third-party number.

Have your account number and payment instrument ready. Follow the provider’s recorded prompts and retain the confirmation number.

Alternative channels

Mail, text, and in-person payment instructions

Pay by text

Allen’s current public self-service notice confirms the WaterSmart payment migration but does not publish a current text-to-pay keyword, short code, or enrollment sequence. Customers should register or sign in at the Allen WaterSmart portal, review Communication/Payment Settings for text notices or pay-by-text, and contact Utility Billing at 214-509-4560 if the text option is not shown. The City’s WaterSmart program is also used for water-use and leak communications.

Mail-in address

City of Allen Utility Billing, 305 Century Parkway, Allen, TX 75013-8042. Customers mailing checks or money orders should use the remittance address printed on the current payment coupon when it differs, include the coupon and account number, and allow mailing and lockbox processing time before the due date.

Counters, drop boxes, and office hours

Utility Billing is located at Allen City Hall, 305 Century Parkway, Allen, TX 75013, and the current portal lists office hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The City has historically provided a drive-through/drop-box payment option at the City Hall utility-billing location; verify holiday closures and whether an in-person counter accepts cash, check, money order, or card before visiting. Do not put cash in an unattended drop box.

What you can use online

The City’s Paymentus/WaterSmart materials support online and automated-phone payments. The current utility program documents electronic checking/ACH and card payments; the live checkout should be treated as authoritative for Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or other wallet availability. Bank-draft/e-check options generally avoid card-processing charges when the portal presents that choice, but the customer should review the authorization screen.

2026 transaction pricing

Convenience fees

A dedicated this detail was not publicly posted. The current public Allen pages and the accessible Paymentus/WaterSmart description do not state a fixed 2026 flat fee or percentage for online card, e-check, or automated-phone payments. The exact charge must be read in the live Paymentus checkout or confirmed with Utility Billing at 214-509-4560 before submission.

Fees can vary by payment type, channel, account class, and processor terms. The checkout screen is the final fee disclosure.

Payment guidance

Choose the payment channel that fits your deadline

The safest payment path is the one published by City of Allen Utility Billing and Collections and matched to the account information on your bill. Online portals are convenient, but telephone, mail, counter, and drop-box options may follow different posting schedules and may use different fees.

For a routine payment, save the final confirmation page or IVR number and check when the transaction will post. For a same-day shut-off notice, do not assume that submitting a card payment automatically stops a field order; ask the provider what amount and confirmation are required.

Never send your account number, password, card details, or bank information to Water Ledger. Those details belong only on the provider’s verified payment channel or at an authorized counter.
