Payment channels

Pay CITY OF CONROE

Use the provider’s verified online, telephone, mail, or counter instructions. Check the final confirmation screen for the amount, processing date, and any transaction fee before submitting.

Primary online route

Use the official payment portal

The direct portal is the fastest route when it is available. The provider identifies its payment gateway as Municipal Online Services/Tyler Technologies platform, presented as the City’s current municipalonlinepayments.com portal.. Never enter account credentials into a lookalike site reached through an unsolicited message.

Telephone payment

Phone IVR

833-887-0695 for automated telephone utility payments; the City also lists 936-522-3170 for utility-billing customer service.

Have your account number and payment instrument ready. Follow the provider’s recorded prompts and retain the confirmation number.

Alternative channels

Mail, text, and in-person payment instructions

Pay by text

No current pay-by-text enrollment keyword or opt-in sequence was published on Conroe’s official payment-options page or QuickPay portal. Customers should use the official account tools or call Utility Billing for account-specific notification enrollment.

Mail-in address

The reviewed 2026 payment-options page does not publish a dedicated remittance mailing address. Use the remittance address printed on the current utility bill or obtain the confirmed address from Utility Billing at 936-522-3170 before mailing a check or money order.

Counters, drop boxes, and office hours

Conroe utility payments may be made at the Conroe Municipal Center, 700 Metcalf Street, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The City also provides a 24/7 payment kiosk there. Kiosk and counter payments accept cash, checks, and credit cards; credit-card transactions incur the published processing charge. Do not place cash in an unattended drop box.

Accepted digital instruments

What you can use online

The City accepts credit cards through its online portal, telephone system, kiosk, and counter, and accepts electronic check online/by phone. Bank-draft AutoPay is available without a processing fee. The current page does not enumerate card brands or mobile wallets.

2026 transaction pricing

Convenience fees

Effective August 5, 2025 and continuing into 2026, credit-card payments incur a 2.50% processing fee per utility transaction; electronic-check payments incur a $2.80 flat fee. Bank-draft AutoPay has no processing fee.

Fees can vary by payment type, channel, account class, and processor terms. The checkout screen is the final fee disclosure.

Payment guidance

Choose the payment channel that fits your deadline

The safest payment path is the one published by CITY OF CONROE and matched to the account information on your bill. Online portals are convenient, but telephone, mail, counter, and drop-box options may follow different posting schedules and may use different fees.

For a routine payment, save the final confirmation page or IVR number and check when the transaction will post. For a same-day shut-off notice, do not assume that submitting a card payment automatically stops a field order; ask the provider what amount and confirmation are required.

Never send your account number, password, card details, or bank information to Water Ledger. Those details belong only on the provider’s verified payment channel or at an authorized counter.
