Pay City of Dallas Water Utilities (DWU) – Dallas Water Utility

Use the provider’s verified online, telephone, mail, or counter instructions. Check the final confirmation screen for the amount, processing date, and any transaction fee before submitting.

Primary online route

Use the official payment portal

The direct portal is the fastest route when it is available. The provider identifies its payment gateway as Paymentus — the DallasGo customer portal identifies Paymentus Corp. in its footer and is the City’s upgraded payment platform.. Never enter account credentials into a lookalike site reached through an unsolicited message.

Telephone payment

Phone IVR

214-651-1441. Dallas Water Utilities identifies this as the automated payment/customer-service number; the current upgraded-platform instructions state that phone payments carry the processor’s 3.15% card/debit convenience fee. The City’s legacy payment page also describes the automated phone line as available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, while representative assistance is Monday–Friday during business hours.

Have your account number and payment instrument ready. Follow the provider’s recorded prompts and retain the confirmation number.

Alternative channels

Mail, text, and in-person payment instructions

Pay by text

A dedicated this detail was not publicly posted. The current DallasGo and DWU payment pages publish online Guest Pay, profile/AutoPay, automated phone, mail, authorized pay stations, City Hall cashier windows, and a drop box, but no official text-to-pay short code, keyword, or opt-in process.

Mail-in address

Current upgraded-platform instructions: City of Dallas, P.O. Box 660025, Dallas, TX 75266-0025. Customers should enclose the bottom portion of the paper bill, use a check or money order, and never mail cash. A legacy City payment page lists P.O. Box 075277, Dallas, TX 75277-1000, so the remittance address printed on the customer’s current statement should control during the 2026 billing-system transition.

Counters, drop boxes, and office hours

Payments are accepted at Dallas City Hall, 1500 Marilla Street, cashier windows on the second-floor lobby at Room 2DS, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The same location has a night-deposit box in the driveway between Young Street and Canton Street; only checks or money orders should be placed in the box, never cash. Current bills may also be paid at any authorized DWU pay station; the City directs customers to call 214-651-1441 for the nearest station rather than publishing a stable complete list on the page. City Hall cashier service and authorized stations should be used instead of mailing a payment after a termination notice, because DWU says mailed payments may arrive too late to cancel disconnection.

What you can use online

DallasGo supports checking-account eCheck/AutoPay, debit card, and credit card. The City says AutoPay can charge a checking account, debit card, or credit card; free AutoPay is available through eCheck using bank routing and account numbers. The current pages do not verify Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Venmo, or other wallets.

2026 transaction pricing

Convenience fees

3.15% convenience fee paid directly to the payment processor for credit-card or debit-card payments online and by phone under the current upgraded DallasGo instructions. eCheck AutoPay using bank routing and account numbers is free. Dallas’s transition notices also state that late fees and water disconnections are temporarily suspended during the billing-platform transition, so customers should rely on the current statement and DWU notice for any temporary waiver.

Fees can vary by payment type, channel, account class, and processor terms. The checkout screen is the final fee disclosure.

Payment guidance

Choose the payment channel that fits your deadline

The safest payment path is the one published by City of Dallas Water Utilities (DWU) – Dallas Water Utility and matched to the account information on your bill. Online portals are convenient, but telephone, mail, counter, and drop-box options may follow different posting schedules and may use different fees.

For a routine payment, save the final confirmation page or IVR number and check when the transaction will post. For a same-day shut-off notice, do not assume that submitting a card payment automatically stops a field order; ask the provider what amount and confirmation are required.

Never send your account number, password, card details, or bank information to Water Ledger. Those details belong only on the provider’s verified payment channel or at an authorized counter.
