What the public record says about a leak adjustment
Denison requires a Leak Repair Affidavit within 30 days of the repair and proof of repair. The adjustment is not made until a full 30-day billing cycle has passed without the repaired leak and may cover no more than the three most recent overstated monthly bills. The City calculates normal usage from the three bills before the leak or, if insufficient history exists, the same months from the prior three years. The credit is 50% of the adjustment amount, is limited to one adjustment per account per 12 months, and requires consumption to decrease after repair. Customers awaiting review must make an agreed minimum payment at least every 45 days or risk late fees and disconnection. Sewer averaging can also be re-calculated when a qualifying January–March leak adjustment is submitted before October 1.
