Use the provider’s verified online, telephone, mail, or counter instructions. Check the final confirmation screen for the amount, processing date, and any transaction fee before submitting.

Alternative channels

Mail, text, and in-person payment instructions

Pay by text

Hutto's WaterSmart/InvoiceCloud program supports text notifications and pay-by-text. Customers first register or log in through the WaterSmart account using the account number and service ZIP code, maintain a current mobile number, and opt into text notifications; the portal then sends payment prompts that can be completed by reply. The city's launch notice does not publish a separate keyword, so customers should use the account enrollment flow or contact Utility Billing at 512-759-4055 if text enrollment is not offered for the account.

Mail-in address

City of Hutto, Attn: Utility Billing, 500 W Live Oak Street, Hutto, Texas 78634. Mail checks or money orders only, payable to the City of Hutto, and include the customer name, service address, account number, or payment stub; the city warns that mail should be allowed 5 to 7 business days and that late arrival can trigger penalties or disconnection.

Counters, drop boxes, and office hours

Payments are accepted at the Utility Billing office in Hutto City Hall, 500 W Live Oak Street, Hutto, TX 78634, during normal city business hours. The city accepts cash, check, money order, and credit/debit card in person. A blue after-hours drop box is in the City Hall parking lot and is emptied at approximately 8:00 a.m. on normal business days; use checks or money orders only, never cash, and include account-identifying information.

Accepted digital instruments

What you can use online

The WaterSmart/InvoiceCloud service supports Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, credit and debit cards, bank-account EFT/e-check, and the launch materials identify Google Pay, Apple Pay, Venmo, and PayPal as available digital options. AutoPay can be configured by card or EFT after account registration.

2026 transaction pricing

Convenience fees

Credit/debit card payments are charged 2.70% of the balance, with a $1.50 minimum. Online EFT/e-check is charged a flat $0.95 fee. The fee schedule is effective October 1, 2025 and is the city's published 2026 schedule.

Fees can vary by payment type, channel, account class, and processor terms. The checkout screen is the final fee disclosure.

Payment guidance

Choose the payment channel that fits your deadline

The safest payment path is the one published by City of Hutto Utility Billing Department and matched to the account information on your bill. Online portals are convenient, but telephone, mail, counter, and drop-box options may follow different posting schedules and may use different fees.

For a routine payment, save the final confirmation page or IVR number and check when the transaction will post. For a same-day shut-off notice, do not assume that submitting a card payment automatically stops a field order; ask the provider what amount and confirmation are required.

Never send your account number, password, card details, or bank information to Water Ledger. Those details belong only on the provider’s verified payment channel or at an authorized counter.
