Notice and timing
How delinquency is handled
Grace period after the due date
A dedicated this detail was not publicly posted. The bill’s due date controls and the District does not publish a universal day-count grace period.
Late-fee calculation
A 10% late fee is automatically applied to any account unpaid by the due date. If the account reaches disconnection, the District applies a $25 delinquent fee for the first disconnect and $100 for every later disconnect, plus a $100 new-deposit fee whether or not the service was physically disconnected.
Disconnection timeline
The computerized system generates a termination letter with a set disconnection date after the due date and automatically disconnects the account if payment is still not received. The exact number of calendar days is not published.
