Provider-specific review
What the public record says about a leak adjustment
NBU has a detailed water-leak adjustment rule for single-family residential customers. The customer must repair a household-plumbing leak and provide a repair receipt; the request must concern a bill within 45 days of repair. Unintentional hose/faucet use, pools, filters, recreational equipment, and irrigation are excluded. NBU compares leak-period usage with the same periods in the prior two years, uses adjusted historical usage to determine the rate classification, and bills excess leak volume at the lowest applicable water rate; where classifications do not apply, sewer charges excluding COD/TSS may be adjusted. Interval usage data may be analyzed when available.
