What the public record says about a leak adjustment
Renton distinguishes the City-owned side of the service line from the private side. Leaks from the meter toward the street are repaired by the City and the City may request an adjustment when warranted. Leaks between the meter and building are the owner's responsibility; a partial adjustment may be granted once every five years when the customer submits the official Leak Adjustment Request and proof of a qualifying repair. Irrigation-system leaks receive no billing adjustment. Customers should retain plumber receipts, repair dates and photographs.
