Notice and timing
How delinquency is handled
Grace period after the due date
Ventura identifies an account as delinquent after close of business 24 days after bill issuance; a 10% late fee applies to unpaid balances of $5 or more 30 days after the mailing date.
Late-fee calculation
Balances of $49.99 or less may carry to the next billing period without further collection action. An unpaid balance of at least $5 that remains unpaid 30 days after mailing receives a 10% fee, with the due date and fee shown on the bill. The policy also authorizes door-tag, disconnection, collection, and other applicable fees.
Disconnection timeline
Ventura will not discontinue residential service until the account has been delinquent at least 60 days. The written disconnection notice is mailed after 30 days and gives 15 days to pay or arrange a plan; a door hanger is attempted at least 10 days before shutoff. If unpaid within seven days after initial termination, the meter may be locked off.
