Notice and timing
How delinquency is handled
Grace period after the due date
The City statement says a 5% late charge is added if payment in full is not received by the due date. The current pages do not state a separate grace period after the due date; payment extensions must be requested before the stated disconnection date.
Late-fee calculation
A 5% late charge is added when the full payment is not received by the bill's due date. Ocala's online extension policy allows a qualifying customer to request an extension before the disconnection date, up to two payment extensions per calendar year; failure to keep an extension makes the customer ineligible for an extension for one year.
Disconnection timeline
The City does not publish one universal day-count from statement date to physical water shutoff on the current customer-service pages. The bill shows the due date and 5% late charge, and the City provides a disconnection-date-based extension process. If disconnected for nonpayment, the published charges are $65 for business-hours disconnect/reconnect and $160 for reconnection after 3:00 p.m.
