Provider-specific review
What the public record says about a leak adjustment
Iowa City permits a Water Usage Administrative Review when a malfunctioning plumbing fixture causes high consumption. The use must be at least 50% above the account's 12-month average, or, for an account under 12 months, above the industry standard of 300 cubic feet per person per month. The request must be filed within 60 calendar days after the high bill or 20 days after a City audit, whichever comes first. The City also advises checking faucets, toilets, softeners, humidifiers and ice makers; the reviewed page describes a high wastewater review but not a universal percentage credit formula.
