What the public record says about a leak adjustment
The official FAQ explains how to diagnose a high bill but does not publish a complete Baton Rouge Water Company water-charge adjustment formula. Customers should first turn off all faucets and water-using equipment, observe the meter’s leak indicator, and compare the present reading with the bill and the customer’s prior 15 months of consumption. If the indicator moves while all usage is off, the customer should arrange a repair and retain documentation. Any sewer-side re-evaluation is administered through the City of Baton Rouge/East Baton Rouge Parish and may use the parish’s average-consumption rules; the reviewed company pages do not establish a universal water-credit percentage, receipt deadline, or number of eligible adjustments.
