Payment channels

Pay City of Wichita Falls Utility Billing and Collection Division

Use the provider’s verified online, telephone, mail, or counter instructions. Check the final confirmation screen for the amount, processing date, and any transaction fee before submitting.

Primary online route

Use the official payment portal

The direct portal is the fastest route when it is available. The provider identifies its payment gateway as Tyler Technologies Municipal Online Services / Utilities Access. The City’s current billing page also exposes a separate Tyler Munis Self Service payment link and a Sensus MyH2O customer-usage portal.. Never enter account credentials into a lookalike site reached through an unsolicited message.

Telephone payment

Phone IVR

The current Utility Billing page lists the 24/7 automated payment number as 877-281-0607 and requires the Utility Account number and Customer ID from the bill. A City announcement for the April 7, 2025 Utilities Access transition listed 888-421-9508 instead; customers should use the number displayed on the current bill or current official billing page because the transition notice and live page differ.

Have your account number and payment instrument ready. Follow the provider’s recorded prompts and retain the confirmation number.

Alternative channels

Mail, text, and in-person payment instructions

Pay by text

No bill-payment-by-text enrollment, keyword, or SMS checkout workflow is published on the reviewed current City utility pages. Customers can subscribe to the City’s general Notify Me email/SMS alerts and can set usage alerts in MyH2O, but those are notifications rather than a text-to-pay service.

Mail-in address

Utility Collections, P.O. Box 1440, Wichita Falls, TX 76307-7532. This remittance address is printed on the City’s official payment-options document and service-initiation form; use the payment stub’s address if it differs from an older form.

Counters, drop boxes, and office hours

Utility Collections is at 1300 7th Street, 6th Street entrance, Wichita Falls, TX 76301, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; the current page directs customers there to establish service and pay the deposit. The City’s payment-options material also identifies a drive-through window accessed from Broad Street and a night depository/drop-off kiosk at the office. Official notices describe cash, check, money-order, and card payment channels, while the current page does not publish a complete desk-by-desk list of additional satellite counters.

Accepted digital instruments

What you can use online

The City supports credit/debit-card payments through its online portals and 24/7 IVR, bank-draft/ACH-style payment arrangements, and online account/e-statement access. Official payment material specifically identifies Visa and MasterCard for residential customers; the current checkout page controls the final card-brand and electronic-check options.

2026 transaction pricing

Convenience fees

The current City rate-and-fee ordinance lists a $3.40 credit-card convenience fee per transaction. A City April 7, 2025 Utilities Access announcement instead described a 3.5% service fee with a $2.50 minimum. Because both are official but date/version-specific public notices, customers should rely on the amount displayed at checkout and retain the receipt; no separate current electronic-check fee was found on the reviewed pages.

Fees can vary by payment type, channel, account class, and processor terms. The checkout screen is the final fee disclosure.

Payment guidance

Choose the payment channel that fits your deadline

The safest payment path is the one published by City of Wichita Falls Utility Billing and Collection Division and matched to the account information on your bill. Online portals are convenient, but telephone, mail, counter, and drop-box options may follow different posting schedules and may use different fees.

For a routine payment, save the final confirmation page or IVR number and check when the transaction will post. For a same-day shut-off notice, do not assume that submitting a card payment automatically stops a field order; ask the provider what amount and confirmation are required.

Never send your account number, password, card details, or bank information to Water Ledger. Those details belong only on the provider’s verified payment channel or at an authorized counter.
