Provider-specific review
What the public record says about a leak adjustment
Fairfax Water offers a one-time courtesy adjustment for unusually high water charges caused by a leak. The customer must promptly and properly repair the leak, submit written proof such as copies of receipts or a plumber invoice, and must not have received a Courtesy Leak Adjustment during the preceding five years. The completed form may be mailed to Fairfax Water Attn: Billing, 8570 Executive Park Avenue, Fairfax, VA 22031, faxed to 703-289-6133, or emailed to the utility's billing address; the utility says a response should arrive within about two weeks. The adjustment is for water charges under the adopted rules, while any sewer adjustment is controlled by Fairfax County, Falls Church, or Fairfax City rules. Meter-reading errors are investigated separately and may result in bill corrections.
