Payment channels

Pay City of Redmond Utility Billing

Use the provider’s verified online, telephone, mail, or counter instructions. Check the final confirmation screen for the amount, processing date, and any transaction fee before submitting.

Primary online route

Use the official payment portal

The direct portal is the fastest route when it is available. The provider identifies its payment gateway as Merchant Transact; the City’s payment-options page links its online account and one-time payment flow to redmond.merchanttransact.com.. Never enter account credentials into a lookalike site reached through an unsolicited message.

Mail, text, and in-person payment instructions

Pay by text

A dedicated this detail was not publicly posted. The reviewed City of Redmond payment pages describe online account, direct-debit, mail, drop-box, in-person, bank bill-pay, and IVR methods but do not publish a text-to-pay keyword or enrollment sequence.

Mail-in address

City of Redmond, Utility Billing, P.O. Box 3745, Seattle, WA 98124-3745. Customers should include the payment stub; bank bill-pay payments use the same address and can take up to ten days.

Counters, drop boxes, and office hours

Payments may be delivered at City Hall, 15670 NE 85th Street, Redmond, WA 98052, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A 24-hour utility drop box is on the traffic island in front of City Hall; cash must not be placed in that box. In-person credit/debit payments have no City fee. The City’s Utility Billing office is closed outside posted hours, and customers facing termination are told to call 425-556-2152 rather than rely on mailed payment.

Accepted digital instruments

What you can use online

Bank-account/e-check payments, Visa, and MasterCard are listed for online or IVR use. Direct-debit autopay and bank bill-pay are also available. The reviewed official page does not list American Express, Discover, Apple Pay, or Google Pay.

2026 transaction pricing

Convenience fees

One-time online credit/debit card payments and IVR credit/debit card payments incur a $5 fee; online e-check payments have no fee. In-person card payments and bank bill-pay have no City fee. A returned-bank payment carries a $25 fee.

Fees can vary by payment type, channel, account class, and processor terms. The checkout screen is the final fee disclosure.

Payment guidance

Choose the payment channel that fits your deadline

The safest payment path is the one published by City of Redmond Utility Billing and matched to the account information on your bill. Online portals are convenient, but telephone, mail, counter, and drop-box options may follow different posting schedules and may use different fees.

For a routine payment, save the final confirmation page or IVR number and check when the transaction will post. For a same-day shut-off notice, do not assume that submitting a card payment automatically stops a field order; ask the provider what amount and confirmation are required.

Never send your account number, password, card details, or bank information to Water Ledger. Those details belong only on the provider’s verified payment channel or at an authorized counter.
