Notice and timing
How delinquency is handled
Grace period after the due date
Quarterly accounts become delinquent after the 15th due date and are subject to a late fee on the 21st of the month; monthly accounts become delinquent on the next business day after the due date. A late notice is mailed within 10 days after quarterly delinquency and gives 12 days before the posting fee is assessed.
Late-fee calculation
The 2026 public rate page states a 5% penalty on payments received after the due date. Additional delinquency charges include a $10 home-posting fee, a $50 nonpayment site-visit fee, and a $30 returned-check fee. The Authority may also impose a water-service maintenance-program charge of $10 per year for eligible residential enrollment.
Disconnection timeline
Bills are mailed for the prior month or quarter; the due date follows the monthly/quarterly schedule. After delinquency, NWWA mails a late notice within 10 days for quarterly accounts and provides 12 days before posting; the current Rules and Regulations govern subsequent notices, water shutoff, restoration, municipal lien, and tenant-rights procedures. The accessible 2026 materials do not state one universal calendar day for every account type.
