Payment channels

Pay City of Tyler Water Utilities (TWU) / Water Business Office

Use the provider’s verified online, telephone, mail, or counter instructions. Check the final confirmation screen for the amount, processing date, and any transaction fee before submitting.

Primary online route

Use the official payment portal

The direct portal is the fastest route when it is available. The provider identifies its payment gateway as InvoiceCloud (new portal launched June 24, 2026); Paymentus remains an official fallback while some accounts are migrated, at https://ipn2.paymentus.com/cp/tytu. Never enter account credentials into a lookalike site reached through an unsolicited message.

Telephone payment

Phone IVR

(903) 531-1230, select Option 1 for automated debit-card, credit-card, or e-check payment 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Paymentus also publishes (833) 241-1675 as its transition-period payment number.

Have your account number and payment instrument ready. Follow the provider’s recorded prompts and retain the confirmation number.

Alternative channels

Mail, text, and in-person payment instructions

Pay by text

Tyler's live InvoiceCloud system provides email and text reminders with quick-pay links and a Pay-by-Text option. Customers should create or sign into a MyTylerUtilities.com profile, verify the account and mobile number, and opt into the text-payment/reminder feature in the profile; the City has not published a public keyword, short code, or standalone enrollment SMS number. Existing autopay customers must re-enroll in InvoiceCloud and should cancel the old Paymentus autopay after the new enrollment succeeds. Text reminders are a payment convenience, not a substitute for the customer's duty to pay by the printed due date.

Mail-in address

City of Tyler Water, P.O. Box 336, Tyler, Texas 75710. Customers should include the account number or bill stub with a check or money order so the Water Business Office can apply the remittance correctly.

Counters, drop boxes, and office hours

The Tyler Water Utilities Business Office is at 511 W. Locust St., Tyler, TX 75702, open Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. except holidays. A drive-through kiosk on the west side of that building is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week; it accepts debit/credit cards, cash, checks, and money orders, but does not dispense change for cash. The City also operates a drop box in front of 511 W. Locust St. and a second drop box in the Rice Road Brookshire's parking lot near the mailboxes; both are emptied at 8:00 a.m. Monday-Friday, checks and money orders only, and no cash should be left. Authorized offsite payment locations received by the City the next business day include D&N Grocery (1007 W. Bow St.), Eagle Exxon Tyler (215 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.), Express Food Mart (2002 E. Gentry Pkwy.), Express Stop (1204 W. Gentry Pkwy.), Fast Stop #101 (2700 WNW Loop 323), Fuel N Food (16408 E. Accepted digital instruments

What you can use online

Current City materials identify debit cards, credit cards, ACH/e-check, Apple Pay, Google Pay, saved-payment AutoPay, and InvoiceCloud Pay-by-Text/quick-pay links. The official Paymentus transition portal also displays Visa, Mastercard, Discover, electronic check, PayPal, PayPal Credit, and Venmo; availability of those legacy wallet choices may vary while accounts move to InvoiceCloud. Tyler also supports paperless billing and bank-draft AutoPay, with checking-account enrollment through the City's Bank Draft Form.

2026 transaction pricing

Convenience fees

The City of Tyler states in its 2026 InvoiceCloud launch notice that it continues to cover transaction fees for digital payment methods, so customers are not charged an additional online convenience surcharge. No contrary current Tyler fee is published; returned payments and delinquency-related fees remain separate charges.

Fees can vary by payment type, channel, account class, and processor terms. The checkout screen is the final fee disclosure.

Payment guidance

Choose the payment channel that fits your deadline

The safest payment path is the one published by City of Tyler Water Utilities (TWU) / Water Business Office and matched to the account information on your bill. Online portals are convenient, but telephone, mail, counter, and drop-box options may follow different posting schedules and may use different fees.

For a routine payment, save the final confirmation page or IVR number and check when the transaction will post. For a same-day shut-off notice, do not assume that submitting a card payment automatically stops a field order; ask the provider what amount and confirmation are required.

Never send your account number, password, card details, or bank information to Water Ledger. Those details belong only on the provider’s verified payment channel or at an authorized counter.
