Notice and timing
How delinquency is handled
Grace period after the due date
No day-based grace period. Bills are due on the 20th of even-numbered months; if the due date falls on a weekend or holiday, it moves to the next business day. A 10% late charge applies after the due date.
Late-fee calculation
A late charge of 10% of the customer’s bill is added each billing period when payment is not received by the due date and continues each billing period while the delinquent amount remains unpaid. A returned or failed payment also incurs the applicable failed-payment fee under the current rate order.
Disconnection timeline
LMUD’s published calendar sends bills around February, April, June, August, October, and December 1; payment is due on the 20th; shutoff is scheduled for March 10, May 20, July 10, September 10, November 10, or January 10 respectively, at 8:01 a.m. If a shutoff date is a weekend or holiday it moves to the next business day.
